This new work in white stoneware was made in October 2024, after a season of intense production (fueled by love and devotion) and marks the 10 year anniversary of my studio practice living in Central Texas. Venus of Austin represents a fertile period of personal creativity and demonstrates an almost boundary dissolving approach to the material limits of clay. But how? Under the right conditions and with control. Creation becomes a matter of logistics. We work together in a rhapsody of effort to exhaust all possible forms and I’m just doing my part here.
