The Venus of Duende marks a return to the spontaneous hand-building that began a decade ago when I fell back in love with ceramics, again. The process is playful, experimental as the stoneware object gradually takes shape in something like growth by accretion. Perhaps that’s why it gives Golden Mean, “floral” or coral reef. The satin black glaze delivers a deep opaque finish that reflects light at the edges in a subtle iridescence. Made is Austin, Texas in Spring 2025. Dimensions are 8”H x 16”L x 12”W
